Meet the Team

We are very proud to have a team of highly qualified and skilled practitioners with many years of experience between us.  All of our Early Years Practitioners hold at full and relevant Early Years Qualification at Level 3 or above.  All staff members have a full enhanced DBS certificate in place which is checked regularly and suitability to work with children is established regularly throughout the year.  At Over the Rainbow, we believe that continued professional development and training is essential to providing the best possible care for all of our children.  All practitioners complete regular training based on the needs and interests of the children in our care at that time, to ensure they are getting the best possible knowledge to support the children in their learning journey.

As a minimum, all members of staff complete the City of York Basic Safeguarding course each year as well as further training around specific areas of safeguarding such as FGM, Prevent and Channel to ensure our knowledge is as up to date and specific to the York area.  All practitioners have also completed the City of York Safeguarding Children A & B courses, which is an enhanced safeguarding course outlining our responsibilities towards safeguarding and the importance of this for the safety of all our children.

All staff are fully qualified in Paediatric First Aid (renewed every 3 years) and complete a refresher course annually.  We have a qualified Youth Mental Health First Aider, and all staff complete a Children’s Mental Health course annually.  The welfare and wellbeing of all our children is a top priority for all of us at Over the Rainbow.
